94 (D-37) Dancing and...singing (Old Paint/ Laredo/ Buffalo Gals)

94 (D-37) Square dancing yesterday; today a little country and western music as we cover these 580 kilometers.

Do you know Johnny Cash? Listen to him sing Old Paint (which you already know, sung by Linda Ronstadt at Post 54) and The Streets of Laredo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qBEYfhvrdg

Joan Baez also sings The Streets of Laredo:

Laredo, however, is in Texas. "Streets of Laredo", also known as the "Cowboy's Lament", is a famous cowboy ballad in which a dying cowboy gives his advice to a living cowboy.
The song is considered a traditional ballad; the origins are not entirely clear. It seems to be primarily descended from a British folk song of the late 18th century called "The Unfortunate Rake."

Another one: Buffalo Gals:

Enjoy.
